How To Dispose of Your Natural Christmas Tree – 2025 Update
Please do NOT place your tree at the curb. Christmas trees may be disposed of at one of the many recycling collection sites in the metro area. These collection sites are available December 24, 2025 – January 9, 2026 during daylight hours unless otherwise noted in the list below. Trees will be recycled as mulch, so please remove:
- Nails
- Wires
- Ornaments
- Tree stand
- Plastic bags
- Lights
The tree recycling collection sites do not accept wreaths or evergreen roping.
Christmas Tree Collection Sites
Bellevue Old Sarpy County Landfill: 8902 Cedar Island Road. Dec 27 – Jan 10 from 7 AM to 3:30 PM
F Street Football Field: F Street East of 156th Street. Parking lot east of field.
Hughes Mulch Products: 3211 Keystone Drive. (Open 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday only)
Kelley Softball Complex: 12302 Fort St at end of Dido Albert Federowich Memorial Drive.
Kelly West Park: 87th Street & Park View Blvd.
La Vista Sports Complex: 66th Street, 2 blocks south of Harrison Street.
Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium: Northwest corner of parking lot, near intersection of Bob Gibson Dr and S 13th Street
Orchard Park: 66th Street North of Hartman Ave
Papio Bay Aquatic Park parking lot: 815 East Halleck Street
Papillion Volunteer Fire Department Center: 1001 Limerick Road.
Pierson/Orval Ballfields: Woodlawn Avenue and Park Drive.
Ta Ha Zouka Park: 20801 Elkhorn Dr. Elkhorn Dr & Glenn St., south side
Walnut Creek Connector Trail: Schram Road and Creek Side Drive. (west of 96th Street)
Wehrspann Lake Wildlife Management Area: Hwy 370, between I-80 and 168th Street. Wildlife Management Area south parking lot.
